The Southern Border Needs Report
I have asked my Representative Brenda Lawrence to co-sponsor a bill to assess the southern border.
It is vitally important that American citizens understand what our security needs are on the southern border. We need good data and a plan of action to both secure our southern border (with barriers, fences, walls), and to improve border crossing capacity (for refugees, commerce, and personal vehicles).
We ask that the Army Corps of Engineers, USGS and other agencies work to create a plan of action in 6 months - no longer. A preliminary report to Congress must be made at the 3 month mark.
We ask that the hiring of experts be expedited so that the work can begin quickly.
